Delivering an uplifting track off his upcoming debut album, Kevin Rieth is off to a hot start with the release of “Robert Dufresne”. We are loving it! Please read on for our full featured review of the track, as well as a background on this emerging artist.

Heavily inspired by 60’s baroque and power pop, Kevin Rieth has hit unimaginable highs on this new single, “Robert Dufresne”. Putting a modern spin on some of his influences like The Beatles, this song instantly served as a rush of serotonin and dopamine, something we needed so badly at this moment in time. Previewing this track off of his debut album Up & Up, we see no reason why the rest of the record won’t be as incredible as this.

With help from Aaron Russo on drums, Kevin Rieth himself took care of the rest of the vast amount of instrumentation on this jam-packed song. On the background of it all though, Kevin says it “introduces the listener to two quirky characters that he has met through his music career: Robert, a joyful booking man who makes the most out of life by dancing barefoot in the rain, and Nina, a former petty criminal from Spain.”

At just a little over three minutes in complete run time, the track embodies everything that is great about modern pop these days. While it felt like there were 1000 positives that came out of it, the pure passion and love that comes directly from Kevin’s vocals had to be our favorite. His emphasis and the feel like he’s having a blast directly translated to our glowing experience. To be honest, we enjoyed it so much that we had to check out the debut “Hug The Line”, and to no surprise it also exceeded expectations.

Truly though, everything about this specific sound and its allusions to the past are completely what the genre needs. It’s fresh, bound to get stuck in your head, and 100% has us ready for that album to see the light of day. In the meantime, we sincerely hope that you prepare yourselves with multiple listens of “Robert Dufresne”/
