Released in November of 2020, but still as incredible today, Kendra Chantelle has put forth her stunning debut record, Carousel. Do yourselves a huge favor and read along for our look at the record, as well as an insight on this talented artist.

Nashville, Tennessee based artist Kendra Chantelle is quickly making a name for herself as one of the more versatile artists around. Coming from a music inspired family, the talent has directly transferred to her in the form of this debut record, Carousel. Combining the likes of soul, rock and roll, blues, and a glimmer of country, this latest piece of work truly features it all.

In addition to crafting her own work, she’s also quite active in the background of things. Writing and recording for TV & film and touring with other projects are just scraping the surface of what she’s capable of. Like any blossoming artist, she’s staying active within the community and getting her name out there in any way she can. Building up credits is part of the job, but thankfully for the other artists she’s working with, they’re gaining a fantastic addition to their personal works.

Turning the focus to Carousel though, Kendra Chantelle has more than impressed us on this full length debut. Coming in at 12 songs, spanning 44 inspiring minutes, this is the definition of what it sounds like to expertly blend everything right with music into one cohesive and unique sound. What could lazily be called alternative country is actually an amalgamation of everything that’s inspired her musically in the past. While her vocals could be shape shifted and bent to nearly any genre out there, what she’s doing on this output is putting her in her own lane.

It would be near impossible to single out and pick a favorite track, however there were some serious standouts based off first listen. Specifically the album opener “I still Believe”, “Never Just One”, and “Blurry Lines” jumped out immediately. The complexities and vocal deliveries had our jaws on the ground. This is certainly a cohesive listen from start to finish, and we absolutely recommend listening in full, but if you’re strapped for time at least dive into these specific tracks to get a taste of what you might be missing if you don’t finish up the rest.

For a debut record, Kendra has nailed this completely. It’s got us incredibly excited to see what else is in store for years to come. As mentioned, we strongly encourage all the readers out there to hop into this listen with an open heart and mind, you will not regret it!
