Justin Oliver is an independent artist from Tuscaloosa, Alabama who recently wrote this song called "King", inspired by the Amaud Arbery shooting. It is meant to uplift and remind black people of our value. It is even more prevalent now since the shooting of Jacob Blake. The first thing you’ll notice lyrically is just how hard hitting and honest it is. This is a song that the world needs to hear.

Justin has been singing, speaking, and playing the piano in public since the early age of 3. He has been featured in national and regional commercials, and was even featured on “American Idol” season 11 as a contestant. He has performed locally (Tuscaloosa, AL) in church, theatre productions, won numerous talent shows, and contributed to many community and University of Alabama sponsored events. He has performed across the Southeast including in New York City at the Lincoln Center with "LL Cool J", Tennessee, Mississippi and Georgia. Justin has also performed internationally in Chiba, Japan (Summer 2010). In 2017 he performed with R&B/Hip-Hop artist Lizzo at Music Midtown in Atlanta, GA.  He enjoys meeting people and giving back to the community. In 2012 he participated in the official Tuscaloosa Community’s April 27th memorial service at the Coleman Coliseum.

From what we can tell, not only is Justin an incredibly talented musician and performer, but he’s a great person as well. He’s pushing through life building accolades and raising awareness for the things that truly matter. “King” is an incredibly powerful song with deep meaning, but behind the intense lyricism lies a catchy song as well.

Immediately as the song begins, the rumbling of the bass takes you over and then not long after Justin’s voice comes in to soothe you away. We have to say that as smooth as Justin’s vocals are on the track from start to finish, the production quality is equally as impressive. The diverse and varied instrumentation proves true with all types of different surprises coming through the song. To find out, you’ll just have to listen for yourselves.

Not only is the song great, but there’s an impressive music video to accompany it as well. We’ve linked it at the bottom so you can watch! If you like what you hear and see, which we guarantee you will, make sure to check out all the links at the bottom to follow along with the career of Justin Oliver! We know we will be.
