Just Tommy breaks down his cover of Pharrell's "Happy" - Interview
Officially released on June 25th, 2021, Just Tommy has brought infinite smiles to faces with his own rendition of Pharrell’s “Happy”. We got the lovely opportunity to sit down with the artist and discuss everything important surrounding the single. Watch our full interview below.
Currently representing the Tempe music scene, Just Tommy has legitimately put out a version of Pharrell’s “Happy” that we think is better than the original, seriously. Staying true to the original track is something you can expect, but there were some glimmers of new magic that appeared that brought a whole new life to it. Truly, getting to know about this release and everything on the way was a treat.
So the story goes from the artist himself, "I didn’t plan on covering “HAPPY”. It just…happened. It all started with a question - “What does the world need right now?” Remembering things like Australia being on fire along with California and Oregon, murder hornets, and more. I believe the world could use some happiness right now. Pharrell’s video happened to be up on my laptop at that moment so I turned it up and said to myself that something like this would make people smile. After that, it was an easy decision to make. For me, this song is a reminder that there’s so much happiness in this world, don’t be afraid to find yours."
While we definitely dug into more of that in our discussion, the real main priority here is to check out the song, and everything else the artist has put out thus far.
