Continuing to get his name out there in the Houston music scene, JUST RMR is continuing to further evolutionize his already amazing sound. With Anti-Valentine dropping quite recently around Valentine’s Day, it was only right that we took the time to get into the head of Justin Boyd, the mastermind behind the wonderful music you’re about to hear. Without a doubt, this is a record and a discussion we recommend you do not miss.
Evoking all sorts of emotion and a somewhat melancholic tone to his unique brand of Hip Hop, we instantly found a calming sensation as we dug into Anti-Valentine. While it felt like the entire listen from start to finish was one consistent highlight, one thing that we do feel the need to point out is the way that he’s delicately mixed an inspiring production with his lyrical delivery. You really get the feeling that every solitary moment of this was thought out and crafted to bring out the most passion as possible.
You’ll probably get the gist quite quickly either from the EP title or the lyrics, but this a record that surrounds heartbreak. It’s obviously relatable for so many out there, but it never hurts to get a unique perspective on a stranger’s journey. The fact that he’s taken these difficult times and created something memorable out of them just goes to show he’s going to get past it and works towards a better future.
