Featuring a rich production and a relatable message, we’re loving this all new single from jnr. titled “a friend”. Please read on for an in-depth look at this track, in addition to a much needed background on this emerging artist.

Written, performed, produced, and mixed by Ben Siva, who goes by the musical moniker of jnr., we can’t help but find ourselves thoroughly enjoying his second ever single, “a friend”. With a major focus on silky smooth vocals, a production we just can’t get over, and an atmospheric aura that encompasses everything, this one’s a real winner. If it so happens to be your introduction to his music, you’ve discovered him right at the perfect moment.

With so much more music in the works and on the way, jnr. has given us all a taste of what’s to come, especially within the realm of experimentation. We took the opportunity to listen to his debut “Remember”, which we sincerely liked a lot, but even just on this second song we can already sense and feel a ton of growth. As a producer, you’re consistently learning and fine tuning the process in order to not only find a signature sound for yourself, but to learn the tricks of the trade. In this scenario, it’s hard not to feel like you’re melting into the good vibes coming out of “a friend”. We would urge everyone out there to give this a spin with a nice pair of headphones, otherwise you might be missing out on all the most important sonic subtleties.

Lyrically speaking, it’s quite straightforward in what this song is about right off the bat. Says the artist though, “the lyrics explore the complexities of mixing business with pleasure in a relationship”. In an all too common scenario of growing close with someone for whatever reason, it’s not always the best idea to cross that line. In this case, jnr. downright says it like it is without any sugar coating whatsoever. It took us by surprise our first listen, but its honesty and boldness like this that has made us come back for subsequent listens. Through nearly three minutes of runtime, you’re immersed into his world and personal experiences and ultimately you leave feeling like you need to hear more as soon as possible!

Thankfully, it shouldn’t be too long until we hear some more music. In the meantime, go ahead and check out those links below to listen, follow along, and of course to keep up with all future releases and information. Enjoy!
