Representing the South London hip hop scene, Jibs began his journey in music at the young age of 11 in which he started writing his first lyrics. That eventually led to him DJ’ing for some of the biggest names in music around the world. What’s differentiating the artist from the rest of the pack is his “elite wordplay and skippy flows” in order to draw in the listener. If it’s any consolation, he’s more than drawn us in.

On his sophomore EP, A Night With Jibs, the artist has done a wonderful job at following up his 2020 debut, Testing. In less than a year at this point, you can actually hear the evolution within his sound, how he’s grown as an artist, and an overall maturity overall. We’re thrilled with what has crossed our paths thus far.

Coming in at 5 total tracks, spanning 16 minutes, Jibs has done an impeccable job by not including a single second of filler on the record. We love the feeling of an EP that doesn’t try to charade itself as a bloated album with 20+ tracks. The fact that he’s come into this project with a set of ideas and executed them exactly as they should be is about as impressive as it gets. There’s too much music in the world at this moment, so we always appreciate when an artist puts out his best.

Kicking things off with the EP opener “Waist Beads”, Jibs immediately transports the listener into his world of music. Jam packed with an incredibly high production value, an always smooth flow, and clever lyrics, we’re confident this might be the best showing yet from the artist. He goes on to continually turn it up on tracks like “Gold Kisses” and “Sweet & Soothin’” that are not only fun to listen to, but also feature a danceability to them as well. Whatever kind of music listener you are, there’s certainly aspects all across the board that could appeal to even the novice Hip Hop or Rap lover.

Lastly, we’d really just like to wrap it all up by letting the reader know that you should not be missing out on this release. We’ve included all the important links below so that you can listen, follow along with Jibs, and more! Enjoy.
