Jesse Brady shines on stripped back single, "Happiness Block"
On just her second officially released single titled “Happiness Block”, Jesse Brady is quickly finding her way within the music industry. We instantly fell in love with her latest song, please read with us as we share our complete thoughts, as well as a background on the artist.
Released on April 23rd, 2021, “Happiness Block” from Jesse Brady is a heartfelt, stripped back, and ultimately vocal forward track that is virtually guaranteed to tear at your heart strings. It was every bit profound within its diverse lyricism and just as captivating instrumentally as it was within its message. Feel free to tell us we’re wrong, but we confidently think this artist is definitely on the right track!
Says Jesse herself on the origins of the track, “I wrote this song at a time when I was feeling sad, stuck, and unsure of how to make a change. I hope it finds anyone who can relate and brings them comfort like it has brought me.” Fortunately for us, this song found us when we needed it the most. It’s not everyday a song like this comes across your plate and perks your ears up, but we’re thankful it did because it felt like medicine.
Keeping it simple and just featuring her vocals and guitar on the production was 100% the right call in our eyes. It allows for the listener to easily focus in without being heavily distracted by gimmicks that so many artists feel the need to include in their music nowadays. Working with Nashville producer Bill McDermott must have played a part in the song’s direction, but no matter who’s idea it was, the song itself turned out flawlessly.
As we mentioned towards the beginning, this appears to be Jesse Brady’s second released single, which then provoked the instant thought of could it get any better than this? We understand that artists and musicians universally need to experience life to create, so our hopes are that there’s enough content gathered over the last year for Jesse to have more songs in the pipeline. At this point, it’s more of a need than a want.
With all that being said though, we highly suggest a listen to “Happiness Block” and a close listen to her debut single “Transformations” as well. Do yourselves a huge favor and click on the links below in order to listen and follow along for more future releases.
