JENTL serves up a densely complex listening experience on EP, "Terminal"

JENTL's new EP Terminal is a testament to the power of music in processing and filtering negative emotions. With dreamy textures and multi-genre influences, JENTL creates an immersive and unique sound that is both vulnerable and unapproachable at the same time. Ultimately it was our introduction to his music, but he’s left us pining for more as this musical delivery aligns perfectly with what we typically enjoy. Without a doubt, we think the curious music lovers are going to take a liking to this.
The EP, which was created during the pandemic, takes a much closer look at specific feelings that were compounded during this time. JENTL initially wasn't sure if he wanted to share this narrative, but the creation process acted as a weight off his shoulders to purify his thoughts, wants, and desires. The result is an EP that is filled with atmosphere and emotion, but more specifically, a massive amount of heart and soul.
The sound ofTerminal is multi-faceted, but borders on dream pop with much more of a burs in energy than what we’re typically used to. JENTL was inspired by shoegaze legends Cocteau Twins and Autolux, as well as modern alt-pop acts like Tame Impala and FKA Twigs, yet still manages to put something out inherently fresh. As impressive as the production is that runs its course, a focal point feels like it does the best job of telling stories of someone who managed to come out stronger on the other side of a weird time.
The opening track "Better For Me" sets the tone for the EP, with its ethereal textures and JENTL's soulful vocals. "Elephant" features a catchy bassline and atmospheric synths, while "Hearts a Maze" showcases JENTL's dynamic vocal range. The EP closes with "Goodbye Crimes", a reflective and introspective track that leaves the listener with a sense of hope and renewal.
Overall, Terminal is a powerful and densely complex EP that showcases JENTL's talent as a singer, songwriter, and producer. With its dreamy soundscapes and honest lyrics, it is a testament to the many capabilities and breadth of art that this musician is able to create.
