Released in 2021, but still as progressive and catchy today, you must check out Jason Barron’s debut album, ()Asis. Keep reading for an in-depth review of the record, in addition to a much needed background on this artist.

Extremely diverse and unique in its aim to create something new and exotic, Jason Barron’s ()Asis does a wonderful job of including a little bit of everything. Self-described as an “intensive but also a positive life-altering experience” he’s surely crafted the lyricism here to emulate personal moments from his life throughout the album’s creation. Paired with an expansive production that tackles multiple genres, ultimately we felt quite uplifted after our initial listen. We’re highly recommending everyone out there give this one a spin as soon as possible.

With a goal to “escape from reality and get to a safe place”, this album has become a haven for all of those experiencing similar things who really need a break from the hardships of life. If anything, we’ve found this listen to feel lighthearted yet super inclusive in its aim to welcome listeners from across the spectrum of music. It’s certainly rooted in electronica, but Jason’s vocals lend themselves so nicely to pop as a whole. He’s blurring the lines of what genres are supposed to sound like and rather has laid it all out on the line for music to just be instead of trying too hard in some instances.

At 10 total tracks, spanning right around 40 minutes in length, it’s really easy to get lost in this as soon as you hit the play button. Truly, we mean that in the best way possible. There’s a real cohesiveness about this where the songs do sound similar to one another, but have enough diversity in the instrumentation and backing sounds to effortlessly flow as one. What Jason has created here really does feel like the quintessential album experience, a lost art that he’s bringing back for the better. With inspiring lyrics, a deep message, and top tier artistry shining right through, we already know this one’s going to be on repeat throughout the entirety of summer!
