First impressions on the track are that Jane N’ The Jungle have a textbook sound of 90’s alternative, featuring the lead singers unbelievably powerful and crisp vocals. Within the first 30 seconds we were sold not only on the sound, but the aesthetic of which the band is giving off. The band’s writing within their music reflects raw emotion through story-telling. Together the band combines influences that vary between Tori Amos, Brandi Carlile, Third Eye Blind, Brand New, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

The band released their first full length record Concrete Jungle on September 13, 2019. While they’ve released new music as of this year, our sole focus is going to be on “Lucky 7”. Considering the band has already racked up over a million streams through Spotify, we can confidently say that they’re heading in the right direction. After listening to their past discography and comparing it to this latest release, the sound, vibe, and tone is exactly where we’d envision the band would go.

Speaking specifically on “Lucky 7”, we’d closely describe it as powerful. It’s about as powerful as an alternative rock can get these days, but with a flair and style that no other band we’re listening to is bringing to the table. Filled with an overall powerful vocal delivery, big booming drums, shredding guitar riffs, and an all encompassing Joan Jett vibe, this song speaks directly to our primal urges. As mentioned before, after listening to the complete album of Concrete Jungle, we’re so incredibly excited that Jane n’ The Jungle decided to craft this updated sound. As a band continues to go in their career, they can either stick with the formula or experiment, and we’re glad they’ve decided to expand the sound they’ve created since the beginning.

With all being said, if you’re looking to rock and if you’re looking for an empowering or anthemic song to get you through this upcoming week, “Lucky 7” is the song you need to be turning on immediately. We know for an absolute fact you’ll be singing along by midway through the track, we know we were.
