Jamie Hansen opens up on new single, "Waitin' for the Weekend" - Interview

Currently based out of Wyoming, Jamie Hansen is an unbelievably talented singer and songwriter that’s bringing a much needed positive vibe to her music. On her latest country-inspired single “Waitin’ for the Weekend”, we got the opportunity to sit and speak with Jamie all about the in’s and out’s on everything you need to know surrounding the track and her as an artist. Truly, it was a wonderful conversation and we hope you check it out.
On the background of the song, Jamie let us know, “I wrote the song a few years back, as I was waiting for my friend to pick me up for a Summer camping trip. We were going up to a spot in the Wheatland Canyon outside of Laramie, Wyoming, where you can cliff jump, which I had never done before, and we were going to fish and grill and camp there. As I was waiting, I got a little antsy and bored, so I broke out my guitar. I had been struggling to write songs on the guitar, as well as more upbeat songs, but this one just flowed right out." She continues, "As a writer, I specialize in making people feel deeply. This song was a break from that. When I play this song, I simply want to have fun and I think that’s something we all need from time to time."
Produced by super Producer/Engineer Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Soundgarden, Tantric) at legendary Pearl Sound Studios (Asking Alexandria, Eminem, Filter), the song’s final form turned out immaculate. Paired up with Jamie’s unforgettable vocals and the sweet essence of summer attached, we can confidently call this one a winner. It’s always a total treat when the musician themselves is just as nice as the song is.
