Serving up his first song of the year and completely hitting the mark, we’re overjoyed with the fresh release of Jacko Hooper’s “Getting No Place Fast”. Keep reading as we share our thoughts on the track, in addition to a background on this artist.

Having steadily made a name for himself over the past 10 years, Jacko Hooper’s creative streak has continued with a seriously fantastic new song called “Getting No Place Fast”. You might recognize him from his performances with James Blunt, Kiefer Sutherland, and more, however his sound speaks for itself on many levels. His newest single is a synth-driven and grand soundscape filled piece of art that evokes a very specific mood. We love it and we know you will too, which is exactly why we’re telling everyone to listen.

Teasing another single off of his upcoming record Respair, instantly this one takes the listener on a thoughtful journey through vulnerable, honest, and open dialogue and lyricism. For us, it certainly felt like “Getting No Place Fast” was story driven in the sense that it immediately sucks you into its complex themes, however there’s also so much happening on the production and instrumental end, you’re in a constant state of allure and discovery. We mentioned this being synth-driven and that absolutely has a lot to do with the textures of it all, but truly the production is massive and you feel as if you’re floating in the atmosphere as the song chugs along. Most importantly though, Jacko’s vocals are extremely unique in their versatility to have you following along, but also holding a warm and inviting feeling. It’s been a while since something so well rounded and complete got sent our way, which is why we’ve taken to this song so fast.

Considering this is part of a much bigger project, this feels like a part of the puzzle that’s beginning to show the other pieces. We’ve already got a sneaking suspicion that the entirety of Respair is going to be speaking upon different subjects, but the real hope is that we get a cohesive album listening experience that embodies this feel and calming aura. We suppose Jacko’s voice has a lot to do with that, but it’s also the diverse instrumentation and the way he’s fully able to take big risks in the mix.

With all that being said, don’t miss this, it’s a wonderful listen. Click the links below to check it out, follow along, and of course to stay tuned for much more coming.
