Hope2yu creates an optimistic & vibrant single, "RAIN"
On just her second ever single titled “RAIN”, the emerging artist known as Hope2yu is already making a major statement with a nostalgic sound. Keep reading for a closer look into the track, as well as a background on this musician.
Currently based out of Tokyo, Japan, Hope2yu is an incredibly talented artist that’s found a sound that we love, directly inspired by the 80’s. On her newest single called “RAIN”, she’s somehow managed to serve up something that’s danceable, catchy, groovy, and filled with color. The enthusiasm is palpable through the vocals, the instrumental sections pull from pulsating synthesizers, and it’s something you can fully immerse yourself into from beginning to end. Of course, we’re recommending everyone out there give this a play immediately.
On the background of it all and focusing inward lyrically, Hope2yu is ultimately “acknowledging the difficulties, or 'rain', in relationships and chooses to move through it with positivity, an admirable approach from the artist”. On the relatability side of things, it’s extremely commendable that she decides to take the high road, and even goes so far as to write this song for those who might be struggling with the decision. Considering that Hope2yu has also composed and mixed this song by herself, it shows how connected she is to the messaging and overall tone. For us, the song is certainly vibrant in the way it carries itself, however it never goes off the rails when comparing the themes to the sound. You’re hooked with how generally catchy it is, but when you look further, she’s crafted this perfectly as a well rounded introduction to the rest of her music.
Considering this is only the very beginning of her career, with much more music planned to be released in the new year, it’s a sound like this that we wouldn’t want to hear much deviation from in the future. It does a great job of incorporating elements of pop, R&B, with an electronic production, but has also created a base to further explore within the genres. Hope2yu certainly has a signature sound and we cannot wait to hear more of it in the near future.
