Back at it and better than ever, Heidi Serwer has made a swift return on her third record, Palm Tree on the Drywall. Please do yourselves a favor and check out our review below, as well as a much needed background on this artist.

Singer, songwriter, mother, and self-proclaimed IT nerd Heidi Serwer has certainly put her talents fully into Palm Tree on the Drywall. Just released on February 18th, 2022, this Chicago-based artist is making massive strides in her abilities to both perform and construct a beautifully landscaped song. We immediately took to her unique sound and have a confident feeling everyone out there is going to thoroughly enjoy this one.

Slightly reminiscent of Chicago legends, Wilco, Heidi manages to create these imagery-filled passages that have exceptionally detailed her last year. While the record is semi-minimalistic on the instrumentation end, just surrounded by acoustics, she delicately leads the EP with her vocals that provide more than enough passion and emotion throughout. Songs like “Pine Needles” and the closer “Vitamin D” were our personal standouts, however we still suggest everyone give this a front to back listen for the full effect.

As this was our first introduction to this artist’s music, quite honestly we didn’t really know what to expect. However, she’s actually blown us away with the pureness and originality that Palm Tree on the Drywall holds. There’s such a fresh feeling that comes through in all aspects and even a calming effect just listening to her. As soon as we clicked the play button, we simultaneously put our feet up and just sort of let the music flow through us. You’re virtually guaranteed to get sucked into this record in the best way possible, but also experience the feeling of relaxation at the same time.

Legitimately, we’ve got nothing negative or even the smallest of critiques to point out here. What Heidi has dreamt up in this record is almost too beautiful beyond words. Of course we recommend you give this a listen. We’ve included all the important links below in order to do so, as well as following along to stay up to date with her 2022. Enjoy!
