Fresh off the release of her latest single “Shut Up”, we got the incredible opportunity to kick off our year with an interview with Hayes Warner. Please check it out in full below.

For those potentially out of the loop, Hayes Warner is a New York City-based pop artist that is undeniably on the rise. As her discography has continued to grow, she’s taking bigger chances and elevating her sound, more specifically on her stellar new single “Shut Up”. Getting to speak with Hayes in-depth about this track was the cherry on top to our listen, but we’re urging everyone to give it a spin in order to learn how it was made, a peek into her process as a musician, and some hints at what’s to come in 2023.

Drawing inspiration from heavy hitters such as P!nk, Avril Lavigne, and so many more, what’s making Hayes Warner special is her ability to think outside the box and create a niche within the pop genre. If there’s anything pop needs nowadays, it’s a revitalization of sorts, and everything she’s released thus far has that signature essence about it that breathes freshness and originality. Considering she wrote her first song at 14 and began recording at 16, she’s clearly no stranger to music, but it’s been lovely on our end to hear her sound and style evolve. It’s no surprise in the slightest that the internet has taken note as well, racking up a million views on TikTok and hundreds of thousands of streams too.

Considering we’re right at the top of 2023, obviously there’s tons that’s planned for the impending year. Hayes so nicely broke down what we can expect, but just as a heads up, she’s already confirmed to be playing at this year’s SXSW and has an EP in the works to be released this Spring. In the meantime though while we patiently wait for everything else to be announced, now’s the perfect time to familiarize yourself with her catalog. We recommend starting out with “Shut Up”, but don’t forget to check out our conversation that really showcases why Hayes Warner is on the rise.
