If you happen to be unfamiliar with the work of Hannah Sumner, she has established herself as one of New York’s finest alternative artists. Honestly, she does it all. As a producer, vocalist, and songwriter, we’re calling her a triple threat. Having performed and sold out shows at some of New York’s finest venues, such as Barclays Center and Webster Hall, it’s no surprise that “Only You” was as good as it was.

According to the artist herself, “I write songs by improvising over my productions. Actually, the choruses of "Only You" are the original first improvised take. I use my first take a lot, as the songs come out almost finished. They help me understand what I'm feeling, usually before I even understand myself.” While the song was initially written in April of this year, Hannah enlisted some of music’s finest to finish things up. Those artists and performers include Steve Bone (VICE audio) playing guitar and doing the mix, Adam Neely (Youtube) playing bass, Ella Joy Meir (Iris Lune), Curtis J (performer), Jackee Frome (performer), Jacqueline Kerrod (harpist), Joey D'Alessio (bass), and Markus Roessler (performer).

Now onto the song, guys seriously, Hannah absolutely crushed her performance and creation of this music video. The song itself comes in at a little under 3 minutes, so why wouldn’t you take the time out of your day to listen to pure beauty? Featuring awe-inspiring acoustics, an emotional tone, and heartfelt lyrics, Hannah rises to the occasion to create beauty in an uncertain world.

From the lyricism to the collaboration on the music video, the entire release is a winner according to us. We can tell the amount of work that Hannah injected into this project, and we fully commend her for the efforts overall. While she is the star of the show in terms of being the face of the video and single itself, it is always nice to get others included. Considering times are tough for all, including other performers is always a fantastic way to keep people’s spirits up and raise feelings of inclusion.

So with this all being said, it should come as no surprise in the slightest that we’re highly recommending and encouraging the reader to both listen and watch “Only You”. We can promise you right now you won’t regret it. It’s inspiring, heartfelt, and it’ll make you feel good. So now’s about the time where we’ll tell you to stop reading and start listening!
