Featuring a wide array of collaborators on every single song, Halley’s latest EP Nocturnas is a wild ride for the senses. Please read on for our full review of the record, as well as a background on this artist.

Equal parts creative and emotional, Halley’s latest musical endeavor is an EP titled Nocturnas that ventures stylistically from track to track. With a bunch of different collaborators on the record like Sr. Chen, Indigo Jams, Cristina Len, Juicy BAE, and many more, you get a taste of musical difference throughout. There’s plenty of different lyrical context present, but the backing beats and production are what piqued our interests on the full listen. Needless to say, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed this and can’t wait for everyone to listen.

On previous releases, Halley has conveyed a ton of different emotion within the messages of the music, and we feel that even though Nocturnas is in Spanish, that vulnerability still comes through effortlessly. You don’t need to need to speak the language to know that there’s a certain openness being communicated as you can tell within the cadence of the vocal delivery. Even with guest vocalists coming on and doing their thing, each feature is an opportunity to get to know a new artist’s style, yet really hone in on what exactly Halley is bringing into the mix.

Clearly influenced by some of the current greats like The Weeknd and Frank Ocean with eclectic R&B electronic elements, there’s still a signature sound from Halley that lets you know this is definitively his record. To be honest, the streams already speak for themselves and other than our review, the public has responded ultimately positively to Nocturnas. With that being said, we’re not surprised as it’s an EP that aims to think outside the box consistently. If for some reason this is your first introduction to Halley’s music, this would definitely be an ideal place to start as it showcases a wide array and range of what he’s capable of.
