Glass Image reach euphoria on lead single, "Again"
Hitting euphoric highs from start to finish on their latest single “Again”, we’re beyond thrilled with the latest output coming from Glass Image. Please read on for our glowing review of the track, in addition to a background on the band.
Made up of Connor VanEpps, Eric Mohan, Alec Barner, and Eric Frank, Glass Image are daring to change things up within the alternative rock scene, and so far, they’ve stayed true to the goal. On their latest single “Again”, the band has leaned heavily on unique melodies, inventive instrumentation, and a concerted effort to think outside the box when crafting their sound. Put whatever label on it that you’d like, but ultimately we’ve fallen in love with everything we’ve heard so far.
Formed in 2018, you can feel the influences come through from living legends such as Radiohead or QOTSA, however Glass Image’s signature feel and essence stays at the forefront. With a full length album titled Mixed Emotions preparing for its release this coming Summer, “Again” is acting as a lead single that mounts a revolution in sound and style for the band. There’s no doubt in our mind that everything that follows leading up to the big day is going to be spectacular, but it’s with our sincere recommendation that everyone discovering the band now cranks up “Again” for multiple listens.
At just a tad under four minutes in runtime, the band wastes not a single second setting the stage for a memorable wall of sound that continues to build throughout the listen. While you’re being barricaded with a killer instrumentation that doesn’t let up at the beginning, the vocals take over in a way that provides a much needed constant to it all. We mentioned it at the beginning, but there really is only one way to describe the feeling you get from listening, and that’s euphoria. Not every song out there can hit in a way that gives you shivers down your spine, but the absolute highs that this track hits multiple times through a short listen are close to unbelievable. Every note is perfectly placed, the fills are original as ever, and Glass Image are solidifying themselves as a band to watch in the Rock category.
