FRIEDRIICH gets personal on brand new single, "Don't Blame Me"

Following up his debut single, “Live and Forget”, FRIEDRIICH is back with another hit on his hands, “Don’t Blame Me”. Do yourselves a favor and read along with us as we share our thoughts on the track, as well as a background on the artist as well.
Currently based out of Barcelona, Spain FRIEDRIICH has always pictured himself in the music industry; and now is the right time to show everybody his talent. Being inspired by Britney Spears, Shania Twain and The Spice Girls is where he got the passion to create at first. Pop culture has been present in his daily life for as long as he remembers and it makes him feel something that he is not able to express by himself. It is like he has been learning all the lyrics, beats, performances and speeches from his favorite musicians all his life and he is now ready to pop. He is ready for the world to finally see his strength, positivity, charisma and hard work.
In addition to the fantastic single, there’s also a music video that is set to be released as well. According to the artist, “the music video is about giving visibility to the trans community, so I teamed up with a trans woman to represent my partner. We are two relentless humans and we can represent our community fiercely. From the beginning I wanted to help others with my platforms and this is the first step.”
Specifically on “Don’t Blame Me”, our first impressions were just how lyrically dense the track is in such a short amount of time. Covering themes extremely close and personal to the artist, the single almost acts like a diary to truly get the feelings out. The music video would also represent that as well, but in terms of sound and listening, we do feel that the song is a great representation of emotions that can be conveyed through music and creation.
Instrumentally speaking, it was a relatively minimalistic sound, although we feel that was the best to truly focus on the lyrics. The production was crisp, clean, and the finger picking guitar really put an emphasis on the overall vibe and atmosphere as well. Production wise, FRIEDRIICH absolutely nailed it! Everything just mended together so perfectly and this was a fantastic release for a sophomore debut.
What we’re trying to say here is that this track is absolutely worth your time, so stop what you’re doing and get listening!
