Elisa Nicolas teases colorful single "No Answers" off upcoming album
Teasing all her existing and soon to be new fans with a wonderful new single titled “No Answers”, Elisa Nicolas is proving she’s got big things on the way. Check out our full review of the track and a background on the artist below.
With an all new album on the way titled Year of The Locust (out in November), Elisa Nicolas has our hype levels at an all time high with the fresh release of “No Answers”. Channeling a summer sound revolving around her serene vocal presence, we’re quite intrigued to see just how exactly she plans to follow up this 10/10 single. Without a doubt, we’re highly recommending you give it a listen ahead of album release day.
Inspired by and sounding slightly reminiscent of some of the greats like Joni Mitchell and Fiona Apple, we also sensed that carefree easy feeling that Sheryl Crow evokes as well. The thing is about Elisa Nicolas is that she’s easily taken those influences and still managed to create something so unique to herself. Whether it’s the inclusion of a diverse instrumentation, especially that slide guitar that breathed life into the song, or just her unique vocal presence, she’s certainly bringing something different to the table.
While the song is nearly six minutes in length, it very quickly flies right by as you get lost into the little world that she’s created. It might’ve been the robust lyricism included and the story she’s telling, but something about the song really lures the listener in for a close and focused listen, but doesn’t overstay its welcome in the slightest. The song feels colorful, vibrant, and ahead of its time with a non-traditional song structure being used too.
As mentioned, she’s got an album on the way called Year of The Locust and we sincerely can’t wait for its inevitable release at this point. Hearing a record full of real and original songs just like this is going to be a total treat. We suggest you join in on the fun and get listening yourselves too!
