Originally from the Scottish Highlands, now based in Los Angeles, Donny Ross is a Scottish alternative rock singer and songwriter who’s crafting witty lyrics and groovy melodies underpinned by some good old rock n’roll. Influenced by bands such as Oasis, Michael Marra, Queens of the Stone Age, Josh Homme, Arctic Monkeys and The Pixies, all of those terrific band’s sounds tend to ooze out in his overall sound.

Following up his most recent album, Happy FryDaze, we are absolutely thrilled to hear the direction and evolution of Donny’s sound, especially on this latest track. While he didn’t list them as an influence, on this single we definitely heard influence from Fontaines D.C., as well as Idles. Together Donny Ross is making music for the rock and roller, especially on the heavier side of things.

All in all, this is the type of music that deserves to be heard live. Paired with Donny’s lofi vocal delivery, a loud and contorted sound, we truly wish we’d be able to see it in all its glory. As locals of Los Angeles, let it be known that we’ll be front and center on the rail as soon as shows are allowed again. Seeing a Donny Ross show will definitely be on the top of our priority list.

So as amazing as his last album was, we’re getting quite excited for what’s to come on the newest. If this song is any indication, it’s gonna be absolutely fantastic. Get excited everyone!
