Once again mixing up his incredibly eclectic and diverse sound, Don Mastro is back again with a fiery new EP titled Uncanny Valley. Luckily for us, we got the opportunity to sit and speak with the artist all about it! Watch our full interview below.

In case you’re out of the loop on Don Mastro, now’s about the perfect time to immerse yourself in the endless universe of his music. On his newest EP Uncanny Valley, Don enlisted a backing band to help complete his sound, but the real heart and soul comes from his soulful vocals. We don’t want to give too much away, because we’d obviously prefer you watch for yourself, but the real priority is listen to this record as soon as humanly possible.

On the background of Don, he’s no stranger to music or experimentation in the slightest. As a Michigan native and former member of Watching for Foxes and ON TOP, he’s dipped his toes in the life of being in a group, but we confidently feel that the solo life suits him best. As you’ll hear once you continue down the rabbit hole of his discography, there’s not a single genre or sound that he can’t expertly squeeze himself into. To be honest, there’s even more coming towards the end of this year that we’re 100% going to keep our eyes on.

Speaking directly on Uncanny Valley, Don has truly put together something that bends the norms of music here. You’ll find glimmers and avenues of glam pop, hip hop, classic rock, alternative rock, and so much more. The EP is only 4 songs in total length, but it won’t take long to lose yourself in the world he’s created. There isn’t a dull moment in the entirety of the record, that’s a fact.

As mentioned in our interview, we can’t wait to witness him in person one of these days once he can get the backing band together. In addition to Don mastering his performance, he’s also got an immaculate ear and a tight knit group of musicians to back him up. Expect endless shredding, groovy basslines, and larger than life drums that just don’t stop.

Now’s about the time we’re going to remind you once again to watch our talk with the man himself, but also to listen and follow along for everything that’s set to release in the coming months. Enjoy!
