As he preps for his newest EP, DMAZ is prepping and teasing the fans with an all new single that we’ve quickly grown to love titled “Electric Field”. Read on for our full featured review of the single, as well as a background about the artist as well.

Currently based out of Montreal, Canada, DMAZ is a rapper and producer who is gearing up for his latest EP, KURTWOOD II. To build the hype and get the fans ready, “Electric Field” was the perfect teaser track to sort of set the base for what we can expect on the record. Pairing up with European producer, Cryptic, has paid off beyond our comprehension as the two have collaborated on something wonderfully special here.

According to DMAZ on the creation of the track, “I wanted to tell a story with this project. Cryptic sent me over 100 beats and when I heard the one that eventually became Electric Field, I just knew we had something special”. Honestly, we couldn’t possibly agree more. The hype has been built, the stage has been set, and at this point we’re just itching for the full release.

Now while the EP is allegedly going to be a “sci-fi” project, DMAZ also tells us that the single artwork best describes the EP in that it’s an electromagnetic field serving his portal to KURTWOOD II. We’ve got a feeling it’s going to make a whole lot more sense once it’s out in full, but there’s always something to appreciate as an artist leaves easter eggs for the listeners to try and crack the code beforehand.

Of course there were seemingly infinite highlights across the entirety of this latest single, however we need to enthusiastically single out the flow and execution from DMAZ. So much of the Hip Hop music that we listen to feels like it’s becoming more and more difficult to understand, whether it be too much mumbling or the production doesn’t allow for it to be audible. In this case, everything is crisp, clear, and actively invites the listener in to get a feel for the story. It’s an intimate sounding song for the most part and the artist has done exactly what he needs to do in order to get his point across. A massive congratulations to everyone involved on this particular project, because making compelling music like this is no easy task.

With that being said though, “Electric Field'' has been the perfect gateway for what’s to open up as KURTWOOD II begins to prepare itself for release. It’s slated for this summer to come up, so we’ll certainly be keeping a close eye. In the meantime, you can listen and follow along with everything DMAZ by clicking the links below.
