Freshly released on November 4th, 2022, Dillon Nathaniel has managed to step up his game once again with a fiery new single, “Where I Belong”. Keep reading for an analysis of our thoughts on the track, as well as a background on the artist.

Released via Spinnin Deep, the LA-based producer known as Dillon Nathaniel has us dancing around like free spirits as we celebrate the release of his new song, “Where I Belong”. With the addition of euphoric vocals setting the tone by Camden Cox, listeners will experience a house centric cavalcade of sound that’s virtually guaranteed to get your heart rate rising and your feet moving. Plain and simple, it’s brought warmth to the colder months and we can’t wait for everyone out there to crank it up and give it a spin.

On the background of it all, “Where I Belong” isn’t all fun and games even though it’s a blast of energy on the surface. Says Dillon, it’s “by far the most momentous and purposeful record I have ever written. I have struggled with my mental health for quite some time and have recently started to get help. This song is dedicated to all the people in the world who struggle with their feelings and emotions”. If you’re feeling alone, this is the song for you, and ultimately an artist that you can lean on and relate to on a higher level of artistry. The song exudes fun and great times, but we’re thrilled that when you peel back the layers, it’s not a hollow shell, rather a well rounded and meaningful song with empowering contextual themes.

Instrumentally speaking, this goes above the classic “house” beat and infuses in hypnotic grooves and rhythms that are best uncovered when listening on a nice pair of headphones. The production value this has to offer pays off in droves on repeated listens, and even there’s a ton of influence from some of house music’s greatest right now, but Dillon still etches out his niche in a crowded genre. Whether you’re looking to pregame a Friday night out, turn up inside, or just inject some positivity into your life, we can wholeheartedly recommend a listen to this.
