Fresh off the release of her latest single titled “Shouldn’t We”, we were lucky enough to get the chance to sit and speak with DESTIŃA all about the track! Please check out our full interview below.
For those out of the loop, DESTIŃA is a Spanglish pop artist currently representing the music scene in Nashville, Tennessee. Always aiming to switch things up and experiment with her sound, she effortlessly blended a ton of different genres and styles on her newest song, “Shouldn’t We”. Of course getting to talk to her all about it was the cherry on top to our multiple listens, but during our discussion, we got the opportunity to ask the tough questions regarding the song’s origins, the production, and what else might be on the way. It’s a conversation you don’t want to miss!
Having been surrounded by music for most of her life, we’re thrilled that DESTIŃA finally took the plunge and started recording originals for herself. After being featured on Season 17 of The Voice back in 2019, that certainly helped to jump start her career, but since then she’s been in full independent mood creating and sharing outstanding music in the process. “Shouldn’t We” is serving as just her second overall single, but honestly it’s given us a glimpse of what’s to come, and also really does embody that genuine feeling that she’s having a blast in the process. Making music behind the scenes doesn’t always have to be all business and that definitely shows within her delivery and the sheer fun that the song holds.
While “Shouldn’t We” is absolutely rooted in the best parts of pop music, our major takeaway is that her fusion of her Spanish heritage has come bursting through for something that legitimately breaks free from the monotony of the genre. Not only does she let loose and show off that dynamic vocal range, but the song has more than enough vibrance to give energy and put you in a fantastic mood. We’ve listened countless times at this point and it’s truly only gotten better since the initial listen. Speaking with DESTIŃA and learning all about the song was an experience we won’t forget, which is why again we’re urging everyone to give it a spin!
