Demiii Gxd shares a brand new collection of tracks on multi-genre album, "Boxed UP"

Seeing its official release on September 16th, 2020, Demiii Gxd has done it yet again on his incredible collection of tracks titled Boxed UP. Read along with us for our full thoughts on the record, in addition to a background on the artist as well.
For those who may be unaware, Demiii Gxd is a native to Las Vegas, Nevada, in which the artist is bringing a new, yet familiar sound to underground hip hop. His blend between R&B and aggressive rap is a showcase on how music is always expanding and evolving. With numerous projects out, Demiii Gxd produces his own music, and is the creative mastermind behind his music videos. Demiii boasts 3 years of music production and editing, along with the experience he has gained from running his own brand MxdGxds.
As the years progressed in the artist’s career, he started using his friend's computer to record himself freestyling to slowly perfect his blend of alternative and melodic flows. In 2018 he started playing shows at house parties and local clubs to gain a following in his community. Two short years later in 2020, Demiii has dropped 3 projects and has been constantly working to show his passion for music through his lyrics and videos.
Now that we’ve familiarized ourselves with the artist and his pure intentions in the music world, it’s time to move onto the most important part, the music! Boxed UP immediately took us by surprise, in the sense that over the 16 tracks totalling a 30 minute run time, we couldn’t help but fall in love with the world that Demiii had created. Keeping the songs short and succinct led to more completed and fully realized ideas throughout the record. On one hand, the artist could’ve had a shorter track length at the same run time, but we really appreciate not pandering to one idea and truly expressing himself through a series of tracks instead.
The blend of R&B and Hip Hop provided Demiii Gxd with the options to flex his chops in both worlds. As a matter of fact, equal fans of both genres will no doubt find at least something they can vibe with on the album. As equal fans of both, listening in full was an absolute treat, as it played to all our senses of what makes both sounds so unique. You’ve got his clean flow and flawless rap scheme, but the production of the R&B atmosphere ultimately complimented it all to create a truly cohesive set of songs.
With this all being said though, after our first listens we automatically considered ourselves his newest fans. We’ll no doubt be keeping a close eye on all future releases, and by the looks of the artist’s Soundcloud, it gets updated fairly often with new ideas and one-off tracks. Now’s about the time we’ll let our readers know to stop reading...and start listening!
