Hitting infinite highs with their catchy debut single “Flow”, the new duo of Dee & d’Z have already proved themselves in what they have to offer. Please read on for a closer look into the track, in addition to a background on these artists.

Made up of Bernadette Dengler and Hans-Peter de Zeeuw, the two have come together with their complementary talents and years of experience to create an all new music duo, Dee & d’Z. Formed officially in 2020, the two are situated in nearly opposite ends of Europe (Netherlands and Austria), but they’ve manage to make it work better than ever with their debut single, “Flow”. Slightly groovy, funky, and full of vibrant Jazz elements, we couldn’t help but immediately fall in love with their complex sound. Of course, we’re recommending everyone out there give this a spin as soon as possible.

With a ton of individual accolades under their respective belts, it’s legitimately a match made in music collaboration heaven. Describing themselves as “Positive Nu-Jazz”, they’re already thinking outside the box in what they aim to create now and down the line. On the background of “Flow”, they’ve said that lyrically it’s about “trusting life, and going with the flow”. While that’s certainly an all too common sentiment, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s still tough for so many to accept that fact and implement it in their day to day lives. Additionally, it gives the song such a well rounded feeling, proving it’s so much more than just an impressive display of instrumentation.

Speaking of, that was easily our favorite part of this song was the liveliness and sincere feeling that you get from such a diversity in sound. Featuring a bombastic horns section, plenty of rhythm in the drums, and not to mention Bernadette’s dynamic vocals, it has definitely checked all of our personal boxes for what we consider great. Debut singles are typically so difficult for many artists to be able to lock down a sound that works in the future, but honestly we wouldn’t want to hear much of a deviation going forward. By the end of “Flow”, you’ll feel energized and empowered, with tons of optimism coming through as well. We truly cannot wait to see what else comes from Dee & d’Z in the near future.
