Back at it with an absolutely enormous new record titled Imperial, Davisher has merged all their influences into one succinct and cohesive listen. We’re loving this one! Please read on for our full analysis of the record, in addition to a background on the artist.

Experimenting in all the realms of electronic music, Davisher’s Imperial was “inspired by tales of Russian Tsars and fairytale love stories”. Recording entirely by himself at his home studio, you can fully expect an expansive record that plays with electronic cinematic soundscapes. Taking inspiration from artists like Chicane, Schiller, and Thomas Bergersen, Davisher manages to impart immense amounts of originality into it as well.

What we can start off saying here is if we had to describe this album in one word, it would be “impressive”. Seriously, the record comes in at a whopping 22 tracks that span nearly an hour and a half in length. While it is certainly long in length, what it won’t do is leave you wanting more or thinking that the artist didn’t have enough time to explore all corners of the genre. Each song is definitely unique in its own right, and while we had our favorites of course, we found this to be an immersive experience that begs the listener to allot the time to actually finish it in full.

Featuring a super unique take on instrumentation as a whole, you’ll find yourself being allured by the production throughout, but the richness of the strings and piano present certainly added a nice piece of depth too. With records like this that are long and thoughtful, anything other than listening fully makes it hard not to spoil. A track by track analysis would give too much away, so what we can leave you with is if you even remotely enjoy electronic music, you’ve found the next record to leave your jaw dropped at the end of the listen.

We truly have zero negatives or critiques to make here. Davisher really went all out in regards to creating something that no one has done before. For that, we can’t help but overwhelmingly recommend you check out not only Imperial, but the rest of his discography. We haven’t dove in yet, but we know we will be as soon as possible!
