Sharing his second single of 2022 thus far, David Poe has got another sensational piece of art on his hands with “Post”. Read on for our in-depth look at the track, as well as a much needed background on the artist.

Self-described as a “light-hearted, 1960s-tinged breakup song for the modern era”, we couldn’t possibly agree more when connecting the dots within David’s imagery-filled lyricism. Released via ECR Music Group in March of 2022, “Post” marks the second preview from Poe’s soon to be released album, Everyone’s Got A Camera. While it’s slated for a September release, we can’t help but urge everyone out there to get ready with a listen to his latest as soon as possible.

If for some reason you’re unfamiliar with the work of David Poe, let us catch up to speed a bit, because he’s been quite consistent in his releases. Having toured the world with Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and so many more, he also works as a composer in which his works have been featured in many films and TV programs. You can go all the way back to his debut self-titled album released in 1997, but we’d rather focus on the present in which this talented musician is reinventing himself and his sound.

What we can confidently say is that his songwriting has never been better. Always pulling from personal experiences and piquing listeners’ interest with complex yet relatable stories, “Post” acts as a glimpse into a moment in his life. Lyrically speaking, he’s set the stage for something we wish had a music video, however his serene vocals lend themselves to setting the tone right from the beginning. David’s voice certainly takes center stage comparatively to the rest of the song which we think was stylistically the right call, but let’s not forget the moving instrumentation driving the force in the background. This is the definition of a well rounded track and is surely going to fit in snugly once the full length record sees its release.

In the meantime, we sincerely can’t wait for everyone out there to give this a spin. So far there’s been two singles released prior to the album, so check them both to get a full taste. Additionally, follow David on his social media below in order to keep up with all the news.
