With a music video accompanying his latest single “PNGN DNCE”, we just had to have Davey Harris back on for a tell all discussion to truly break it all down. Please check out our newest interview with the artist below.

Becoming quite prolific with his releases, yet always keeping that signature essence to his sound, Davey Harris has been on an absolute tear lately on the creative end. While the song “PNGN DNCE” was shared last month, he’s finally got a music video to accompany the single that has both fulfilled his artistic vision and paired perfectly with the overall vibe of the song. Once again, we got the chance to talk with Davey all about the specifics of how it was created and we highly suggest you give it a watch when you can.

On the background of the song, it all started earlier this year when Davey met a friend at SXSW in Austin, Texas who had recently just got back from a trip to Antarctica. The song as you’ll be able to tell from the video and lyricism is about penguins, and was actually released on May 27th at a rally in Berlin, Germany, put on by the organization ASOC (Antarctica and Southern Ocean Coalition). Ultimately, it’s an open letter to combat elements of climate change, to preserve Antarctica and the South Oceans, plus so much more.

The song features another incredibly talented artist on the saxophone named Steve Davit who added his own pizzazz into the mix, and it really shows the depth of the overall song. Without a doubt, the song really does have that Davey feel to it through the vocal delivery and specific production, but like we talked about extensively during our chat, he’s always on the path of experimentation. With so much more on the way in the coming months, some of which was teased, we’ve got a sneaking suspicion that not only is the sound going to change up a little but we’ll be seeing a more mature side to Davey’s artistry. The plan is to share a new song and video about once a month, so please make sure to follow along by clicking the links below! Lastly, we’ve linked the music video to “PNGN DNCE” below too.
