Back and simply better than ever, Darrian Gerard’s latest single “Old Wounds” is an end of the year stunner that we’re loving! Please read on for our full review of the track, as well as a refresher on this artist.

On her fourth overall single “Old Wounds”, Darrian Gerard is making massive strides on each subsequent release. Centering this song around her dynamic vocals, yet communicating an incredibly personal message, the entire package of this song is perfectly well rounded. If this is your introduction to Darrian’s music, you’ve discovered her at literally the best time.

Our first foray into Darrian’s music was on her single “I’m Not Sorry”, and since then, we’ve been patiently waiting for a follow up like this. According to the artist, this song is about “digging up past memories that you thought were once healed and not being able to let them go, even if it ends up hurting you or those around you”. For anyone that’s experienced something like this, you’ve got to be well aware of how sore a subject it can seem, so we sincerely hope that there was a fair amount of healing on Darrian’s side due to creating this.

A theme that we’re noticing within her music though is just how diverse in style and sound she’s making these songs. While we understand that she’s in the beginning of what’s going to be a long music career, her ability to shapeshift genres is something you don’t normally see out of someone that’s emerging. In our opinion though, we absolutely love it because it gives her the ability to show off her immense talent and craft these songs’ tone based on the message. “Old Wounds” does that delicately, but the end product is everything we’d hope for and more.

Wrapping it up though, not only are we recommending you check out her latest, but she’s got three other stellar songs that are just waiting to be checked out. We’ve included all the links below in order for you to get listening, follow along, and stay tuned for what’s undoubtedly going to be a massive 2022. Enjoy!
