Daniel Sherman shares mind-bending album experience, "UNCAGED."
Released officially on October 1st, 2021, Daniel Sherman has shared his genre-diverse record UNCAGED. that has completely floored with its passion. Please read on for our full review of the album, as well as a background on the artist.
Hailing from Livermore, California, Daniel Sherman is continuously delivering a little bit of everything when it's come to his musical journey. Shifting the focus directly to his newest album UNCAGED., you can fully expect a horror-inspired record centered around a deep lyricism “designed to confront and challenge predictability”. This is a sound you should not be a skeptic of, we highly recommend everyone give this record a listen as soon as they can.
Coming in at 16 total tracks, spanning an hour and 17 minutes, this record is an absolute beast of a listen. Typically when records exceed that hour point, we usually feel that it becomes unhinged in a way that is filled up with nonsense. However, let us make it clear right now that this is about as cohesive as it could possibly be given a uniformed sound across all the songs. The messaging is on point and Daniel’s production skills have risen to the highest degree in order to form a signature sound for himself.
Picking out a favorite song would truly be an impossible task, however we will recommend that at least listen to the opener “INSIDE.”, “KILLAKILLABADGUY.”, and “FINALLY.”. Specifically on “FINALLY.”, what a ridiculous near-8 minute thrill ride of a song. Listening to that one alone should be enough ammo to get you to click start on the opener and let it run through. Don’t be scared off by the run time either, it really sucks you in in a comforting way, all the while evoking a serious sense of drama and emotion at the same time.
Another thing that we feel the need to bring up and touch on again is the immense amount of genre infusion and experimentation going on here. Labelling this as a certain genre would be a waste of time, it’s literally in a league and niche of its own. In a world of music that keeps making the same thing over and over, it’s records like this that challenge listeners and are actually thinking outside of the box.
