Dani Teveluwe creates a soulfully nostalgic single, "Waiting Wasting Time"
Leading the charge with her sensational vocals, Dani Teveluwe has just let loose an astounding new single titled “Waiting Wasting Time”. Please read on for a closer look at the track, as well as a much needed background on the artist.
Co-written with her close collaborator, Matt Collins (WHARVES), Dani Teveluwe has put her best foot forward in creating something that’s eclectically smooth and soulful. While the song is certainly calming right from the get go, her vocals inspire and provide a vibrance that’s almost difficult to put into words. Needless to say, if this is your introduction to Dani’s music as a whole, you’ve found her in the perfect place of her blossoming career.
Currently based in Australia, she’s been making consistent waves with her past singles and been a part of some notable tours with Death by Denim and Old Mervs. In all honesty though, this feels like the very beginning of when an artist is priming themselves to take off. Speaking directly on “Waiting Wasting Time”, it’s got all the elements of what we’d consider to be a complete track, but with an edge to it brought on by the atmospheric instrumentation and production. You can hear the Motown influence right at the forefront, but Dani has wasted no time implementing her signature style into the delivery and its other facets.
As this was our introduction to the artist, it’s truly not often that we’re taken away so quickly from one song. With that being said though, “Waiting Wasting Time” toes the line of being nostalgic and setting the tone with modern inspirations. You feel both transported back a few decades and living in the present at the same time with how she delivers her lines. It’s an odd way to put it, we’ll admit, but we promise it’ll all make sense for the best once you hit the play button.
