Dallas Rodin delivers a gift on her all new single, "Sour Cherry"

As if Christmas couldn’t get any better, Dallas Rodin’s newest single, “Sour Cherry” has just been released into the world and we’re loving it. Read along with us as we share our full thoughts on the track, in addition to a background on the artist herself.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dallas Rodin is a singer and songwriter whose roots lie in pop music, with glimmers and influences stemming from alternative and R&B. Creating music from her personal experiences, her lyrics tend to be on the unique and soulful side of things. With the Christmas release of “Sour Cherry”, we confidently feel that Dallas’s overall sound is heading in the right direction.
Featuring a stellar production throughout the track, the first thing we noticed was just full and complete the sound was. It initially gives off a sort of dark vibe and atmosphere, however as the song kept on it lightened up a bit. Adding in a rich bass feel was a wonderful addition, and those listening on a nice pair of headphones or sound system are surely in for a treat when they listen to this loudly.
Having already released a handful of singles throughout 2020, we’re beyond thrilled that she’s closing out this year with yet another winner. Considering her releases thus far have all been in this single format, we’re hoping for either an EP or full length record in the coming year. No rush to Dallas, but we’d love to hear a cohesive record featuring her finest work yet.
Now while the single only comes in at around 2 and a half minutes, it packs a punch even with a shorter run time. There isn’t any filler on here whatsoever and our only complaint is that we’d love some more of those instrumentals! As mentioned, the production is top quality and Dallas’ vocals truly shine through. What we’re really trying to say here is that “Sour Cherry” is a hit and we need more. So with that being said, now’s about the time we’ll let you know to stop reading, and start listening!
