After years of hard work and focus, D’Addio’s self-titled debut album is finally out and the wait was well worth it. Please read on for our glowing review of the record, as well as a much needed background on this artist.

At the helm of D’Addio is Giulia Scarantino who single handedly produced and mixed all the tracks you’re about to hear. With the help from a handful of talented musicians like Marco Machera, Toni Nordlund, Marco Quarantotto, Roberto Segala, and Joe Sharp, this is easily one of the most complex and complete sounding works we’ve experienced all year. At every turn there’s a surprise and we can already feel that it’s built to last for years to come. Let us give the recommendation right now to not miss out on this stellar record.

Serving as a “goodbye and a welcome to all the infinite possible new-selves that are yet to come”, you can expect to hear a collection of songs that revolve around love and similar struggles. Through 11 total tracks, there’s one thing that has stuck out the most, and it’s that cohesiveness and lost art of the “album experience” that has come storming back here. Seriously, through extremely intimate moments within the production and each song flowing seamlessly from one to the other, it’s not something you’re going to want to skip around from song to song. The greatness and the finest qualities of it all come through with an uninterrupted listen.

Instrumentally speaking, it’s not wild to say that there’s a ton of experimentation going on here rather than a strict song structure. Honestly though, that’s what gave it its charm in our eyes was the non-traditional route that Giulia has taken things. We mentioned surprises, but ultimately it’s the unknown that kept us glued the entire time. Through endless rhythms, her unique vocal delivery, and the feeling that you’re in the room with her, there’s endless things to be appreciative of here. The point here isn’t to spoil the best parts, rather point you in the direction of an album that is sensational from beginning to end. With that being said, it’s once again our sincere recommendation for everyone to give D’Addio a proper listen.
