Review by Austin Sher

Shared with the world officially this morning on November 26th, 2020, Cristy & Her Lovers have delivered an infectiously catchy new single, “Contact High”. Read along for our full thoughts on the track, in addition to a brief bio on the band as well.

For those who may be unaware, Cristy & Her Lovers are made up of 9 extremely talented musicians who give it all with everything they do, as well as having a “tell it like it is” attitude, especially on this debut single of theirs.

Not only is today Thanksgiving, but it’s just another excuse to kick back and listen to this absolute greatness of a song. These 9 members, who started out as strangers, have come together to fill your ears with a plethora of horns, funky bass lines, and we can’t forget the divine vocal delivery as well. Right from the get go, you’re taken into a world of poppy goodness, but with a delicate twist of unique instrumentation implemented by true professionals.

This new group are taking alternative pop and rock music and putting a personal and signature flair on it. Sure, bands these days can add a horns section and call themself “unique”, but when added in the right capacities, such as “Contact High”, it accounts for something special than just a normal addition.

Considering this is the band’s debut single to the world, we can think of no bigger statement than by coming out with a bang on this song. I hope we’re not overhyping, but truly, it’s a killer track. It features everything we like in our music, so with that, we’ll absolutely be keeping a close eye on whatever else this supergroup decides to release in the hopefully near future.

So before you’re in too much of a food coma to comprehend, read this, listen to it, and bask it all in. For everything related to the band, to listen, and to keep up with all future releases and information, please check out the following links below.
