On just his third overall single, Craig Gould has released a definite summer anthem titled “Burned”. It’s hard not to love this one! Please read on for a closer look at the track, in addition to a much needed background on the artist.

Officially released on May 11th, 2022, ahead of his debut album Songs from the Campfire, Craig Gould is well on his way to the record of the summer with “Burned”. Keeping things quite inventive on the instrumental end, but ultimately leading the charge with an emphatic vocal performance, this song feels like it was crafted to kick back with a cold one and enjoy the day. We have a sneaking suspicion the full album is going to embody that whole feeling, but for now, we’ve got to overwhelmingly recommend a listen of his latest to properly introduce yourselves.

Through bumping bass lines, reverberating acoustic guitars, and a riveting story from start to finish, Craig Gould has cracked the code on how to expertly compose a catchy track. While the song is certainly rooted in a Folk and vintage Americana style, he’s managed to give it a modern and updated feel on the production side of things. You can feel those inspirations channeling through fro the past from acts like Fleetwood Mac or Cat Stevens, but there’s still such a freshness about Craig’s demeanor that sets him apart from the greats and into a pack of his own. We think it might be his sheer enthusiasm, but we’ll let you all be the judges once you give it a proper spin.

We had the opportunity to check out his debut “Ain’t No Place To Hide” and “Captain of the Seas”, and while those are fantastic in their own right, “Burned” feels like it encompasses its own unique spirit in an unexplainable way. Mainly though, as we begin to see how Songs from the Campfire shapes up for its summer release, there’s no doubt in our minds we’ll be coming back to these three to prep ourselves for the big day. A last comment here would really be just how versatile the music as a whole is. It’ll pep you up or give you a dose of energy, but on the other hand, don’t be afraid to connect the dots within the deep lyricism for a little introspection as well.
