Serving up a healthy dose of modern indie rock, we’re more than impressed with Couvo’s latest output, “Horses & Divorces”. Please read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on this artist.

Straight and to the point, Couvo’s newest song “Horses & Divorces” is perfect ear candy for the soul. Originally named after a local dive bar in Brooklyn, he self-described his sound as a fairly even blend of Rosalita, Bruce Springsteen, and 1975. Although he’s certainly infused a whole lot of himself into the sound, the influences tastefully come through for a song that we’ve quickly come to love. !00%, this is a song and an artist you’re not going to want to miss out on.

Mixed by Charlie Stavish (Jenny Lewis, Interpol, Weezer) and mastered by Alex DeTurk (David Bowie, D’Angelo, Norah Jones), the team working on this clearly knows their way around an indie-inspired sound given the artists they’ve worked with. Comparing this song to the rest of Couvo’s discography, it fits in seamlessly like a glove and would definitely serve as a perfect introduction if this is your first time checking him out. A warning though, this song is seriously catchy and we’ve got a feeling it’ll be on repeat for a while if you start listening.

As this was actually our first time listening to his music, of course we did a deep dive on the rest of his music and this might just be our favorite. Maybe we’re suckers for indie rock with a tinge of punk and aggression, but the way that he’s managed to so effortlessly hook us is the sign of a solid artist. If anything, it’s instilled the want and now need to follow along with the rest of his releases as long as they’re as fantastic as this one!

Truly, we’ve got nothing but compliments and servitude to say about “Horses & Divorces”. No matter when you might be reading this, don’t skip out on a song and artist that’ll surely make you happy. We’ve included all the important links below in order to listen, follow along, and to stay tuned for everything else on the way. Enjoy!
