On a roll since his debut single back in March, common goldfish has made a spirited return with an all new track titled “I Don’t Feel Today”. We are loving it! Read on for a closer look into the track, as well as a much needed background on this artist.

From the mind of Jonty Lovell, comes his musical project called common goldfish. At the helm, Jonty is a Tottenham-based producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who has single handedly blown our minds with his all new track “I Don’t Feel Today”. While the song certainly leans towards inventive instrumentals, so much of the greatness can be found within its popping production and his lofi set of vocals. We can’t wait to see what the future holds, but for now, get into this beauty as soon as you can.

For us, we instantly get excited when drum-forward tracks are sent our way, especially when the beat is as genuine and discernible as this one is. Paired with glimmers of electronics giving this a further complexity within its sound and style, “I Don’t Feel Today” is a complete vibe from beginning to end. Putting a label on this genre-wise is actually quite difficult, mainly because there’s so much infused to it. We suppose you could call it indie pop, but with tons of psychedelic and electronic elements flowing through it, it’s honestly become something of its own, an incredibly difficult yet impressive feat in today’s musical landscape.

With a ton coming up for common goldfish in terms of concerts, collaborations, and more, we wish that we were based in London. This is definitely more on the exciting side and we can only begin to dream what a colorful and vivid experience a live set would be like. The vibrance flows infinitely on this, and while it doesn’t feel quite like a departure from what we’ve previously heard, common goldfish seems to be setting himself up for the future. A record like this during the summer months would be ideal, so the next year should be interesting. We can’t wait to see how it all pans out!
