Christian Parker gives the specifics on creation of "Debutante" - Interview
Fresh off the release of his impeccable debut album Debutante, Christian Parker was nice enough to sit down for a tell all interview discussing the in’s and out’s of the record. Please listen or watch below.
Currently based out of Waco, Texas, Christian Parker is an unbelievably talented musician who’s just shared a genre-bending debut record called Debutante. With the help of some of Nashville’s finest producers and session musicians, the team backing him came together to create this eclectic blend of sound and style. During our conversation with Christian, we covered a multitude of topics, but mainly got the opportunity to chat about the origins of the record’s creation, how it was recorded, and even got a glimpse into what the next year of his busy life is going to look like.
Somehow finding the time between law school and making music, one thing is for sure, this artist will always find the time and energy to further himself. On Debutante, it’s as rich lyrically as it is on the instrumental side. We mentioned it during our chat, but he’s managed to fuse so many different genres together that span from southern rock to blues to classic country. Having grown up in Arkansas and always being surrounded by it, it crept into the type of music he was making, but still infused it with a ton of his other inspirations. We think that whether you’re on the fence about country music, this acts as such a nice introduction due to its many twists and turns from start to finish.
At 10 total tracks that span right around 30 minutes in length, Christian wasted zero space on Debutante with any filler at all. Each song is its own little atmosphere of beauty, jam packed and filled to the brim with extreme amounts of soul coming directly from his powerful vocals. We talked extensively about the talent in the studio helping to create those instrumentals, but truly they’d be nothing without this artist at the helm guiding the listener on his vocal adventure. Some of our favorites were “I’ve Been Alive”, “Back”, and “Dixie Soul”, but honestly you’d be missing out if you didn’t let it run through in full.
For now while we patiently wait for the EP that’s on the way, go ahead and check out those links to listen, follow along, and of course to stay tuned for much more news.
