All set for release this coming April 14th, we got the special opportunity to speak with Chris Crillz ahead of his release of his debut EP, Naw Fo Real. Watch our full interview below!
Currently based out of North Carolina, everyone out there is about to get an earful of some greatness from a true up and comer, Chris Crillz. As his debut titled Naw Fo Real preps for release in April, it was only right that we brought him on for a full preview to let us in on the production, lyricism processes, and some special surprises as well. While we haven’t heard it just yet, we know for a fact it’s going to be something great.
One of the cooler things we learned about Chris during our interview is that even though this is technically his first official release, he’s no stranger to the music scene in the slightest. In fact, he’s been crafting together music for nearly 10 years now, which basically means he’s got a ton of demos that need to see the light of day sometime soon. With him now being signed to Real Hood Music, we can only hope his follow up comes sooner than later.
For Chris, music is the vehicle by which he expresses himself. Another thing that stood out was the sincere call out to those who make music in a non-original way, mainly writing music surrounding experiences that they haven’t lived. Considering he grew up in a low-income area and actually experienced the negativity of that, everything you’re about to hear is 100% truthful, unlike so many.
Taking influence from some of the greats like 50 Cent, Dipset, Jay-Z, Cassidy, D-block, and many more, we have no doubts whatever is about to hit the airwaves on April 14th is going to be massive.
