Flowing with infinite passion, emotion, and a strong message, Chasing GOD have made their quick return with a new single titled “Dear God”. Keep reading for an in-depth analysis of the song, as well a background on the musical collective.

Led by founder and sole writer Randy Comer, Chasing GOD is made up of an eclectic group of singers located all over the US from Iowa to Nashville. While the band feels like a supergroup of talented musicians and instrumentalists, one thing is for certain, they’re what’s been missing recently from Christian music in the present day. The lyrics are distinct and powerful, the rhythms are sound, and the music is undoubtedly inspiring from beginning to end. We’re recommending all give this one a listen as soon as you can.

From the opening notes and beyond, sincerely, “Dear God” only amplifies and doesn’t reach its final destination until the climax right at the very end. Featuring screaming guitar solos, an unbelievably rich production, and Randy’s vocals that powerhouse their way to the forefront, it’s a four minute track that grips the listener and doesn’t let go until the final notes. We’ll be honest though, we’re not 100% familiar with the genre of Christian rock other than a few of the major bands from the mid-2000’s, but this feels like the right resurgence that the genre needs. It’s obviously based in religion if you break down the lyricism line by line, but even from an instrumental and plain music standpoint, it downright rocks.

One of the best parts though is that the collective has released a ton more music just in 2022. Although we can only imagine how difficult it might have been to remotely put these songs together if they weren’t in the same room or city, the end result has been nothing but fantastic. “Dear God” is the only song we listened to, but we’ll certainly be doing some digging to see what other gems we can find. We’d urge everyone out there to give this a chance, crank it up loud, and really feel the endless love that this song holds.
