Previewing an all new single from her upcoming EP, Charis’ has certifiably nailed it on her latest, “Own It”. Please read on for our full review of the track, as well as a background on this emerging artist.

What is actually a collaboration between Charis and Kedo Rebelle ultimately turned out to be pure perfection between the two. Written to “fight against the feeling of not being seen or loved for who you are”, this song was as lyrically important as it was stylistically exciting. Whichever way you’d like to look at it, just know right now you should 100% be clicking that play button.

While it felt like there were infinite things to pick from for what we enjoyed the most, “Own It” for us came out to be an optimistically charged single that exuded all the good vibes. Just like the title says, it’s urging you to own who you are and to not fight that feeling of fakeness. It’s an all too relatable message that so many deal with on a daily basis, but now we’ve got this song to remind ourselves to be the best version of us.

Speaking on the instrumentation and production side of things though, that’s where we felt that things really came together the most. The song revolves around Charis’ vibrant vocals that set the mood for the entire song, while the backing track of it all is enough to get anyone out there up, dancing, and having the time of their lives. If anything, it’s got us extremely excited to see how the rest of the record comes out. We’ve got a feeling it’ll be coming out in early 2022, but we’ll make sure to update.

Not to spoil too much else, but we really just want to lay on the fact that this is a total pop jam that deserves to be listened to loud and proud. Do yourselves a big favor and check out the song, as well as following along with Charis on her social media, by clicking those links below. Enjoy!
