Kicking the year off incredibly strong with an all new EP titled Four Twenty One, we’ve simply been mesmerized by this performance from Catterina. Please read on for our full review, in addition to a background on this emerging artist.

Originally from Brooklyn, but now living representing the music scene in Houston, Texas, Catterina’s full bodied work on Four Twenty One has been equal parts inspiring and entertaining. Influenced by the Texas Winter Freeze last year where the artist and her family had to take refuge, this record allows for old and new listeners to really get into the mind of this musician during a difficult moment in time. We can’t wait for everyone out there to give this a proper listen.

Pulling from so many strong female musical influences, so much of what we ended up enjoying here was the everlasting originality that comes out on every track. Coming hot out of the gate with “Don’t Tell Me”, Catterina immediately transports the listener into her atmospheric world filled with inventive lyricism and subdued instrumentation. Ultimately the record revolves around her dynamic vocal presence, but there were certain instrumental moments that really reflected and showcased climaxes too.

At 6 total songs, spannight right around the 22 minute mark, this EP flew by super quick. Catterina proved to us she’s got that rare quality to both suck you in with a story but leave you feeling impressed with everything you’ve just heard. With so much music coming out basically every single day, it’s becoming more and more difficult to keep the listener's attention focused. With that being said though, it was hard to deviate from this record due to its density and our curiosity being piqued on each song. Plain and simple, we sincerely loved every moment here.

Do yourselves a big favor today and immediately check out this record, as well as everything else Catterina has made by clicking the links below. Don’t forget to follow along either for what’s bound to be a massive 2022 for the artist.
