Based out of the Hudson Valley in New York. Cat’s tune is bringing all the nostalgia of past Christmases while touching on some very current, relevant themes. It’s an acoustic country pop tune inspired by artists like Garth Brooks and Taylor Swift, and you can hear her playing fiddle on this one, in addition to her smooth and crisp vocals.

We got a chance to catch up with Cat before the release of her single and she filled is in with some real nice insight about the writing process; “I realized there was the very real possibility that, due to the risks and restrictions associated with COVID-19, I would not be able to travel home to Texas for the holidays, making this almost a full year since I’ve visited my family. As an exercise, I began writing down a list of all the things I love about the holidays, and the song sort of grew out of that, out of a desire to still make this year something special. It touches on a feeling that I think a lot of people are experiencing right now, and tries to spin it in the most positive light.”.

Although this holiday season is sure to look different from past years, we’re so incredibly thrilled that Cat has managed to create something so perfectly original, especially considering how tough it must be artists at this time. Besides the song being fantastic (which it is), to be an artist right now and keep up with the creativity must be incredibly difficult, so we thank her for all the hard work that she’s put in to put smiles on listeners' faces globally once they check this out.

As far as the song goes, as perfect as it is contextually, Cat also excels specifically in the instrumentation department. Combining elements of acoustic guitar and her fiddle make for a seasonal track that has personally uplifted our spirits at We Write About Music. With so much uncertainty in the world, especially with live music, Cat has managed to craft a song that pulls from her personal experiences that become more and more relatable the more you really listen in.

While this was our first deep dive into the music of Cat Lines, let it be known right now that it’s absolutely not going to be our last. She’s brought us so much joy in the form of just one song, we’ve instantly become fans for life. We can’t wait to hear what else she releases in the near future, because we’ll definitely be listening as soon as we can. In this case though, if it’s your first time with Cat as well, you’re going to be overly impressed with this single. So what are you waiting for? Get listening!
