Caroline Parke crafts genuine country record, "Pause and Pine"
On her all new album titled Pause and Pine, Caroline Parke has delivered a record that is jam packed with innovation and purity. We are loving it! Please read along with us as we share our complete thoughts on the record, in addition to a background on the musician.
Filled with real country sounds and originality, Caroline Parke’s third full length LP Pause and Pine has become a staple in our regular music listening. Currently based in Alberta, Canada, Caroline carefully crafts her music to genuinely tell her personal stories, but at the same time, go back to a true country roots sound that any dignified country music lover could respect. We are highly recommending you check out the album.
At 12 songs, spanning 36 imagery-filled minutes, Caroline Park’s folksy storytelling voice doubles as one that soothes the soul and another that guides the listener along and lets them into every facet of her life. For example, “Days Gone By” has to do with when neighbours actually used to wave to each other and “Ranching” goes in-depth on the difficulties of working on a farm.
Straight from the heart and filled with mass amounts of love, as beautiful as the lyricism was and continues to be, the instrumentation side of things was just as impressive. Separating the two, both were impressive, but that classic country sound came through perfectly. The record could’ve been released in nearly any decade and it would’ve fit in nicely, it’s just lovely to know that amazing music like this is still being created in 2021.
Whether you’re into country music or not, we’re still suggesting you give it a shot because artists like these deserve to be supported. You can feel the passion and audibly enjoy yourself with pristine production, there’s really just no wrong done here in the slightest. Additionally, Caroline Parke has two other albums that are certainly worth your time and effort to listen to. Drift away and let the sweet country sounds flow right through you.
