Caroline Parke breaks down her latest single, "Don't Look Back" - Interview
Fresh off the release of her latest single, “Don’t Look Back”, we got the wonderful opportunity to sit and speak with Caroline Parke for a full interview! Please check it out below.
Living in Western Canada in the middle of “cattle country” for the past nine years, Caroline Parke has taken her artistic and songwriting abilities and turned them into a series of highly relatable songs. As her latest “Don’t Look Back” has just been released, in addition to a full length album we recommend listening to as well, we sat with Caroline to discuss the meanings behind her work, what’s on its way, and so many more fun topics. Don’t miss out!
Living as a full time mother and part time musician, we’re thrilled that she’s been able to find her space to get away and get these ideas out into the world. We spoke intimately about the meaning of her songs as a whole, and while a lot of her music does stem from personal experiences, so much of it can be interpreted just by deciphering her deep lyricism. Listeners all over can find solace in what she’s gone through, but given the context of her life, there’s a real relatability for those living similar lives. If anything, her exemplary abilities as a songwriter have showcased themselves more than anything on Walk With Me.
Keeping the focus on “Don’t Look Back”, the song displays a certain minimalism about it that we confidently feel was the right stylistic choice. In Caroline’s music, you’re not going to find any unnecessary production gimmicks to entice a listener, rather a real genuineness of classic country tunes. She puts her vocals and lyrics right up front to pique the listener and there’s typically a humming acoustic guitar in the background to keep the beat and move the story forward. She’s a songwriter first and foremost, but it doesn’t stop the music in its entirety from being completely authentic.
With all that being said, we’re super excited for everyone out there to give this a listen. You can do so by checking out all of the links below, as well as following her on her website and social media to stay up to date with the latest. Enjoy!
