Caroline Parke teases lead single "Bargain With The Future" off upcoming LP
Dropping in right at the end of the year with yet another sensational single, Caroline Parke has done it again with the release of “Bargain With The Future”. Read on for a closer look into the track, as well as an update on the artist.
While it’s been nearly six months since we last interviewed Caroline Parke surrounding her single “Don’t Look Back”, it’s safe to say she’s been immensely busy since then. Having shared her fourth record Walk with Me, Caroline is gearing up to release her fifth titled Pure Imperfection. She’s lead off in a big way with an all new single called “Bargain With The Future” which holds a great deal of meaning through its vivid lyricism delivered in a beautiful way by her always awe-inspiring vocals. If this happens to be your introduction to her music, this is a great jumping off point to explore much more.
On the background of it all, “Bargain With The Future” was actually inspired by Jordan Peterson and his interesting viewpoints into his “ideas of how our minds interpret the world and our relationships”. As an Alberta native himself just like Caroline, she managed to get the green light on using direct quotes for this music, and fingers crossed we should be hopefully be hearing more Peterson-esque songs in the meantime. For us though, we do feel just like so many songs out there, things are up for interpretation. Listening over and over, this single left us feeling optimistic and truly hopeful for a brighter and more vibrant future. Even in the way that Caroline carries her vocals and serves up these lines, there’s an underlying feeling of true sincerity and genuineness as well. There’s plenty going on instrumentally as you’ll be able to take away from this, but undoubtedly it’s a lyric heavy listen.
Having had the opportunity in the past to actually speak with Caroline and get a peek into her creative process has been such an enlightening experience as she’s continued to share music too. While there isn’t a massive deviation in sound or style from previous records, we hoped there wouldn’t be to be honest, because the niche of sound that she’s bringing is exactly the kind of comfort and relaxation we appreciate in our music.
