Camilo EG returns for full breakdown of single, "Triunfo" - Interview
Fresh off the release of his latest single “Triunfo”, Camilo EG was kind enough to make his way back for another tell all interview surrounding the track. Please enjoy our discussion in full below.
Originally from Colombia but now based out of San Diego, California, Camilo EG is a multi talented artist specializing in Rock, Folk, Pop, and beyond. On the artist’s newest song titled “Triunfo”, Camilo pivoted his stylistic direction for something that ultimately feels more intimate, raw, and vulnerable. While the vocals and lyrics are sung in Spanish, thankfully he took the time to give us a background on the song’s meaning, a look into how it was made, and even gave a glimpse into what we can expect in the new year. Without a doubt, it’s both an artist and single worth taking the time to listen to.
On the background of it all, Camilo claims “Triunfo” is a song about spiritual/emotional rebirth and how it can ignite a person's creative engine. Although our Spanish is unfortunately limited, one thing we did say during our discussion for certain is that the emotion and sheer passion comes through in his voice. It obviously is much better understood in the native language, so getting to hear about it from the musician itself was the cherry on top to our listen. Another major standout among many was the minor shift to what we heard last on his EP Spark & Gasoline. It still certainly holds those alternative rock elements, but the tonal and mood shifts were a new avenue that we sincerely loved.
Creating these new and inventive soundscapes is no easy task as well, and one thing you should take into account is the unreal production. We would urge everyone out there to give this a listen with a nice pair of headphones, otherwise you would 100% be missing out on some of the most beautiful subtleties in the mix. Everything pops and escalates when necessary and honestly it’s just a super enjoyable listening experience from an artist worth discovering.
For now while we patiently wait for more music, go ahead and check out those links below to listen, follow along, and of course to stay up to date with everything else on the way.
